Ever wanted to wake up looking like a Disney princess, worthy of birds singing heralding your awakening – only to arise from your slumber to be faced with the harsh reality that your resemblance is more akin to a toe than Tiana? If like myself, you’re a little more riot than Rapunzel in the morning, here are some night-before beauty treatments to help you wake up a bit more beautiful.
God loves a trier.
I always look much healthier when I use the Palmers Gradual Tanning Moisturiser, it’s the perfect pick for a subtle glow. It smells like chocolate and leaves my skin super hydrated while gradually making me look a little more alive. Hooooraaaahhhhh.
As I have acne-prone skin, I don’t use the Palmers Gradual Tanning Moisturiser on my face. Instead, I use the Clarins Radiance Plus Golden Glow Booster. These are concentrated drops that you just add in to your regular moisturiser and then apply to your face as normal. No streaks, no patches and no fuss! Just remember to wash your hands after application!
My night time moisturiser of choice recently is the Glossier Moon Mask – boy it packs a punch! Super moisturising, soothing and brightening. My skin just loves this stuff. A great alternative that I’ve used for years is the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask. This is still my all time favourite and it’s actually the only night moisturiser I’ve used for over 6 years now. Buuuut, with the much anticipated (and majorly hyped) arrival of Glossier to the UK, I thought I’d give their moisture mask a go – I’m a fan.
I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but eyebrows have become a matter of serious importance over the past few years. My natural brows leave a lot to be desired, so I’ve been giving them some extra TLC recently. I’ve rediscovered my love for the Eyelure Pro-Brow Eye Dye kit and it’s been a game changer for my brows. It picks up all the little fluffy and fine blonde hairs, so my eyebrows look much fuller ‘naturally’. I hardly have to fill them in now!
On my quest for better eyebrows, I picked up the RapidBrow Eyebrow Enhancing Serum. The price tag will make your eyes water slightly but MY GOD it’s a miracle worker! I have little hairs sprouting in areas that I had given up on years ago! While I was in Boots repurchasing the brow serum, I also picked up the RapidLash Eyelash Enhancing Serum – again LIFE CHANGING. The combination of these two products allows me to wear less makeup and get ready much faster. Ooh, I also wake up looking much better too. *i woke up like dis* (kinda)
When I conjure up images of natural beauty, I think of pink hydrated lips. Not exactly what I wake up with most of the time. I absolutely love my Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm, but it’s matte and colourless. For that slightly rosy tinted, juicy plumpness I’ve been loving using the Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil in the shade ’04 Candy’. It stains the lips slightly whilst giving you loads of hydration through the night, so you can wake up with the perfect pink pout.
What tricks do you do the night before to make you look a bit fresher when you wake up?
